Blue & White and Copper Red
Chinese blue and white was first produced at Jingdezhen in the 14th century during the Yuan dynasty. The blue was made possible from the cobalt, huihui qin imported from Persia. It was an extremely expensive commodity, and painted under a transparent protective glaze. Regarded as tranquil with its many shades and mature application on elegantly shaped ceramics. It is no wonder that Chinese blue and white has attracted worldwide acclaim and a high level of connoisseurship among both academics and collectors.
