Description

A Chinese blue ground enamel circular box cast with the bajixiang, the cover inset with a white jade oval plaque from the centre of a ruyi-sceptre and carved with two scholars on a rockwork bridge in the mountains, beside a staircase beneath overhanging pine branches and above a waterfall.

Total length 5 3/4 inches, 14.7 cm.

The jade Qianlong, the box 19th century.
