Description
Chinese turquoise glazed biscuit porcelain joss stick holder modelled as a seated Budai, his right hand holding a bead necklace on his raised knee while his left hand holds a treasure sack, covered overall in a rich even turquoise glaze pooling at the edges.
2 ½ inches, 6.4 cm high; 2 ¾ inches, 7 cm wide.
Kangxi, 1662-1722.
Wood stand.

- From an important French private collection formed between 1924 and 1941.
- Purchased from Pierre Saqué, 12 Avenue George V, Paris, 3rd April 1929, with Dupuy Saqué label.
