Description
Chinese junyao glazed tea bowl, thinly potted with upright sides, covered overall on the interior and exterior in a bright lavender glaze, thinning at the rim and extending to the foot revealing the fine biscuit body.
3 5/8 inches, 9.2 cm diameter; 1 7/8 inches, 4.6 cm high.
Northern Song dynasty, 11th – 12th century.
Condition
Excellent condition, natural glaze shrinkage on the base and above the foot rim.
Provenance & Additional Information
- From the V.W.S Collection (1918-1974), acquired by the father of V.W.S. (1890-1977) in China in the 1930s.
