Chinese porcelain famille rose enameled fencai bowl of square form with fluted body and chamfered corners, painted with a continuous harbour scene of the walled city of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, with the Zhang Jiangmen gate in the foreground, the city with the Temple of Prince Teng amongst buildings, with many boats docked and many other fishing boats on the Gan river, with a four-character mark on the rockwork Teng ge gao feng, the reverse with an iron-red double gourd seal Gu pu, a fifty-six character poem and a four character mark Ming Zeng Qi Ji, the original poet and a four character seal Wo si gu ren, “thinking about ancestors”, all beneath a gilt rim.

The base with a six-character seal mark of Jiaqing and of the period, 1796-1820.
