Description
Pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose semi-eggshell deep dishes, each painted in bright enamels with a standing lady holding an osmanthus branch looking down at a large butterfly, standing beside her an attendant holding a fan with a table, pierced rockwork, daisy and bamboo branches, encircled by branches of peach flower, camellia, pinks and aster.
8 1/4 inches, 21 cm diameter.
Yongzheng, 1723-1735.
Condition
One with long base line and associated star crack now consolidated and minute nibble; the other excellent condition.
