Description
Pair of Chinese famille verte biscuit porcelain standing parrots, each perched on yellow glazed pierced rockwork, their detailed, moulded bodies stippled at the breast with overlapping feathers and long tail feathers and covered in a rich apple-green glaze, the eyes inset with black enamel, the beak and detailed claws left in the biscuit.
7 inches, 17.9 cm high.

Condition
One with base crack and chip restored and back claw re-touched; one excellent.

£8,500Chinese porcelain famille verte foliate blue enamel rim “Dutch Province” armorial dish, painted in the centre with a large gilt ground shield with a rampant lion beneath a crown with the arms of the Dutch city of Zutphen between open winged birds and gilt and iron-red peony branches, encircled by a twelve-petal moulded border with seated scholars and standing ladies dispersed between pine, daisy, lotus, chrysanthemum and prunus arrangements in vessels, the underside with two branches.

£3,500Chinese porcelain famille verte, wucai deep saucer dish, painted with the three friends of winter, sanyou, pine, prunus and bamboo in blue and yellow enamel peach shape reserves, all on a rich green ground painted as a large open leaf with a naturalistic margin, the underside as a stylised flowerhead, the base with a flower mark in underglaze blue within a double ring.
