Description

Chinese red glass overlay imperial-style snuff bottle carved in high-relief with a dragon above an openwork bi of shield-form, the reverse with wings in the form of an archaic-style phoenix bird, beneath a taotie mask, each side with an archaic-style bird form handle with the bird’s tail forming the foot rim.

2 ¾ inches, 7 cm high without stopper, jadeite stopper.

Qianlong, circa 1760-1800.
