Description
Japanese porcelain large celadon crackle glazed deep floral dish, moulded with three registers of lotus flowerheads, the leaf edges in relief covered overall in a light crackled celadon glaze pooling at the leaf tips, the underside plain with a celadon crackled glaze, the unglazed base and foot rim revealing the burnt biscuit body.
15 ¾ inches, 40 cm diameter.
Kawase Shinobu, 1969, signed on the base, Shinobu.
Wood box, described as ‘ju-ku-no-ori, large celadon bowl’, signed and with artist’s seal, Shinobu, on the interior of the cover and the orange cloth.
