Chinese imperial porcelain copper-red glazed circular bowl of almost conical form, the interior and rim glazed white.
7 3/4 inches, 19.7 cm diameter.
The base with a six-character sealmark of Qianlong in underglaze blue and of the period, 1736-1795.

• Formerly in the collection of Tang Shaoyi (1862-1938), the first prime minister of the Republic of China, and thence by descent.

• A similar bowl was sold by Sotheby’s Hong Kong in their auction of The Edward T. Chow Collection, Part One, Ming and Qing Porcelain, 25th November 1980, lot 61, pp. 86/7.
