最早的已知釉里红陶瓷是在唐代(618-907)中国西北部的今陕西省烧制,凑巧的是这也是丝绸之路的起始地。
釉里红瓷的烧制延续到了元代和明代,但是通过氧化铜作为着色剂难度非常高。
烧制釉里红瓷器需要非常精确的控制窑内温度、空气和气流,同时也要细心准备彩料。经烧制的成品颜色是无法预测的,釉里红瓷的成功率一般较低,因此存世品价格高昂。
