德化白瓷

字面意思为“中国白”,Blanc de Chine特指特产高岭土的中国东南部沿海福建省德化县烧制的白釉瓷器。

自宋代(960-1279)起中国便开始烧制德化白瓷。十八到十九世纪,大量德化白瓷进入欧洲市场,法国鉴赏家为这些明代(1368-1644)及以后生产的精美白瓷命名为“中国白”。

我们经常被问到如何鉴别德化白瓷,德化瓷的特点是它含有少量氧化铁,从而烧制出暖白色或象牙色,同样早期和晚期的德化瓷也有着许多区别,尤其体现在胎的厚度、透光度、重量和显色这几个方面。

明代德化瓷胎色偏乳白,有时白中泛肉红,转变期则泛淡黄或奶白,十九世纪及更晚的德化瓷通常呈白色。
