Description
Chinese porcelain lavender blue glazed vase of fluted baluster form with eight petal ribbed lobes, the central bulb above a gently waisted splayed foot and beneath a slightly flared rim, the interior glazed white, covered overall on the exterior in a rich and even bright lavender blue glaze, pooling and thinning at the ridges and flutes, the base unglazed revealing the pure biscuit body.

Condition
Overall in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. There is minor age-related wear as expected.

- A similar large celadon glazed vase of this form, from a European collection, was included by Marchant in their Recent Acquisitions catalogue, 2006, no. 47, pp. 88/9, where it notes that a simialar ormulu mounted pair with crown C marks on the ormulu, first used in 1745 are in the Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, London, one of which is illustrated by Soame Jenyns in Later Chinese Porcelain, London 1971, pl. XCVI; a slightly smaller example is in the Victoria and Albert Musuem, Salting Bequest, c429-1910; another is illustrated by professor Bo Gyllensvärd in The Tectus Collection of Chinese Ceramics, 1991, no. 90. p.226/7; a further example of slightly smaller size, was included by Marchant in their Recent Acquisitions catalogue, 2003, no. 28, p. 44.

£23,500A superb Chinese celadon glazed tripod, two-handled incense burner with rounded body, cabriole legs, everted rim and upright openwork handles, covered overall in a bright celadon glaze extending to the interior and on the underside, the feet unglazed revealing the burnt-red fired body, the well of the interior used in the kiln for firing a further piece, with Japanese metalwork gilt- lined cover.
Early Ming, 14th -15th century, circa 1400.

Chinese imperial porcelain celadon-glazed deep bowl with flared rim, carved on the exterior with six camellia flowers on a continuous scrolling branch with leaves, covered overall with a luminous celadon glaze, extending on the interior and base.
The base with a six-character mark of Yongzheng within a double ring in underglaze blue and of the period, 1723-1735.

£7,500Chinese celadon glazed openwork rectangular-form table screen on integral stand incised with scrolls and petal-shape front, carved with two dragons, one rising from the waves, the other descending from the clouds in a square frame surrounded by seven apertures, the flanged sides incised with scrolls, the reverse plain with two holders for incense, the top edge with chamfered corners, covered overall in an even, rich, celadon glaze, the underside revealing the burnt-red biscuit body from the firing.
Ming dynasty, circa 1500.
