Description
Chinese porcelain famille rose rounded pocket snuff bottle, painted on each side with a large pink peony amongst flowerheads in yellow and blue, with branches, buds and leaves in green and white, all on a black ground with an underglaze blue ruyi-head cloud band beneath the gilt rim, the flat rim unglazed.
Rose quartz and metal stopper.
2 3/16 inches, 5.5 cm high without stopper.
1820-1860.

£19,500A pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose two-handled ice buckets of fluted form with foliate rims, painted on each side with a tied bouquet of peony, camellia, chrysanthemum, rose and pink, amongst smaller flowers and foliage on a flower spray ground, the handles decorated with iron-red and gilt highly stylised dragons, the everted foot rim with iron-red, gilt and puce prunus flower heads, the foliate rim with original gilding.

£3,500A pair of Chine porcelain famille rose European subject fluted tea-bowls and saucers, each painted with a reclining lady with European hairstyle, lying on a bed beside a stack of books, in a fenced terrace scene with a bird perched on a branch, the ladies shoes in the foreground, encircled by six reserves of peony and chrysanthemum on different diaper grounds of iron-red, turquoise and pink enamel, the body fluted beneath a foliate guilt rim, the tea-bowls similarly painted.
The saucers: 4 ¼ inches, 10.9cm diameter; the tea-bowl: 2 ½ inches, 6.5cm diameter.
Early Qianlong, circa 1750.
