Description
Chinese yellow glass snuff bottle of imperial-style, moulded and carved with a standing caparisoned elephant with his head turned to the side, wearing a long and elaborate saddle cloth, the jardiniere form neck forming the howdah above a high-relief ruyi-scroll band.
Jiaqing/Daoguang, circa 1800-1860.
2 15/16 inches, 7.5 cm high without stopper, coral coloured stopper.

£48,000Chinese large jade pebble carved as a recumbent two-horned qilin resting amongst ruyi-clouds supporting a book wrapped in a closed box secured on the front by tabs, resting on its haunches, the body with detailed work to the spine, mane, tail and scales, the back legs and split hooves neatly tucked underneath.
The stone probably burnt of white opaque colour with black, russet and other markings.
