Description
A Chinese white jade superbly hollowed bottle vase, carved on the body with a wide band of double xi, “happiness” characters, framed within scrolls, between ruyi-heads, the neck with an archaic-style relief band of cicadas, all beneath a lipped rim and on a gently raised foot.
Qianlong 1736-1795.

- This bottle vase would have formed part of an imperial three-piece desk set, consisting of the bottle vase, a box and a censer. All three would have been similarly decorated.
