Description

A Chinese white jade snuff bottle of generous rounded form, upright neck relief foot rim and superbly hollowed with two masks and ring handles.

Qianlong, 1750-1800, white jade and gilt metal stopper 2 5/8 inches, 6.6cm total height with stopper.

Provenance & Additional Information

  • From the V.W.S France collection (1918-1974), acquired by his father in China in the 1930s.
  • Sold by Christie’s Paris in the auction of From Beijing to Versailles, the V.W.S. collection 14th December 2022, lot 611, p. 130.

Condition

The stone is almost flawless.
